3. Our Products and Services
We offer a range of building materials, home improvement products and building services for trade professionals, homeowners and other customers.
Product listings, brochures and service pages describe the relevant products, specifications and available options. Not every product or service is available to purchase directly through the website; some, including made-to-measure windows and doors and certain building projects, may require an enquiry, quotation, survey or separate agreement.
Building supplies and colour mixing
Our building supplies range includes external wall insulation systems, render products, primers, waterproofing, adhesives, levelling compounds, paints, sealants, tools and related building materials.
Selected renders and paints can be professionally colour-mixed at our premises. Colour availability and matching options depend on the product and the manufacturer's system. Any colour-mixed or customised product is subject to the terms set out in our Bespoke and Colour-Mixed Products section and our Returns and Refunds Policy.
Windows, doors and associated products
We supply made-to-measure windows and doors in a range of materials, styles, colours and specifications. Our wider range includes conservatories, skylights, roof lanterns, shutters, garage doors, window covers, blinds and insect screens.
Depending on the product and project, we may offer professional advice, surveying, supply and installation. The scope of any survey or installation will be confirmed as part of the relevant quotation or agreement.
Customers should carefully check all measurements, opening arrangements, colours, finishes and specifications supplied or approved for made-to-measure products before manufacture or ordering proceeds.
Building services
Our building services include renovations, extensions, loft conversions, heritage projects and other building projects described on our website.
The scope, specifications, pricing, timescales and responsibilities for a building project will be set out in the relevant quotation, specification or separate contract. These website Terms and Conditions do not replace any project-specific agreement.
Professional advice and product suitability
We have professional experience in the building products and services we offer and aim to help customers make informed decisions. Advice is based on the information available to us and the details supplied by the customer.
Product suitability may depend on measurements, site conditions, intended use, compatibility with other materials and the manufacturer's instructions. Unless we have expressly agreed in writing to undertake a particular survey, specification or design responsibility, customers remain responsible for ensuring that the products selected are appropriate for their intended application.
Products must be stored, handled, installed and used in accordance with applicable manufacturer instructions and specifications. Where specialist installation or technical assessment is required, customers should use an appropriately qualified professional.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits statutory rights relating to faulty, incorrectly supplied or misdescribed products, or any other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Product Availability, Stock Levels and Supplier Delays
Website stock information
We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product availability and stock information displayed on our website is accurate. However, stock levels may change before our website is updated, and an item shown as available may occasionally be out of stock, allocated to another order, discontinued or unavailable from our supplier.
Adding an item to your basket or seeing a product marked as available does not, by itself, guarantee that the item will be available for immediate dispatch.
Where a product is unavailable, we will take reasonable steps to inform you as soon as practicable and explain the options available.
Orders affected by stock shortages
If we discover that a product is unavailable before accepting your order, we may decline the order and will explain the reason where appropriate.
If we discover a stock shortage or supply problem after accepting your order, we will contact you and, where appropriate, offer one or more of the following options:
-
Wait for the product to become available, with an updated estimated delivery date.
-
Accept an alternative product, but only with your agreement.
-
Cancel the affected product or order and receive a refund for any amount paid for goods we cannot supply.
We will not substitute a materially different product without your agreement.
Where only part of an order is affected, we will explain the available options for the affected items and any practical implications for the remaining delivery. Any additional delivery charge must be made clear and agreed where required.
If we cannot fulfil an accepted order, we will not retain payment for goods we are unable to supply. Any refund due will be processed in accordance with applicable law.
Supplier and manufacturer delays
Some products, including made-to-measure windows and doors, specialist building materials and bespoke products, may need to be ordered from a manufacturer or supplier after you place your order.
Estimated availability and delivery dates may therefore depend on third-party supply arrangements. We will communicate significant delays when we become aware of them and take reasonable steps to keep you informed.
If a delay means we cannot meet an agreed delivery arrangement, we will discuss the available options with you and comply with any applicable legal requirements concerning delivery, cancellation and refunds.
Nothing in this section gives us an unrestricted right to cancel an accepted order or removes any rights you may have under applicable law.
Order Changes and Customer Cancellations
Checking your order
Please check your order carefully before completing checkout, including product descriptions, quantities, measurements, colours, finishes, delivery details and any options selected.
If you notice an error after placing an order, contact us as soon as possible at info@ddbristol.co.uk, quoting your order number and explaining the change required.
We will try to accommodate reasonable requests, but changes may not be possible once an order has been processed, dispatched, manufactured, colour-mixed or otherwise prepared.
Cancelling before an order is accepted
Where your order is still an offer awaiting acceptance, you may withdraw that offer before the contract is formed by contacting us promptly.
If payment has already been taken, any refund due will be handled appropriately.
Cancelling after an order is accepted
Once an order has been accepted, cancellation depends on the type of product or service, the stage of fulfilment and any applicable statutory rights.
If you wish to cancel, contact us at info@ddbristol.co.uk as soon as possible and provide your order number.
For standard stock products, we will explain whether cancellation is possible under our order arrangements or whether you need to follow our Returns and Refunds Policy.
For products already dispatched, delivered, manufactured, colour-mixed or made to your specifications, different conditions may apply. However, we will not treat an order as automatically non-cancellable merely because processing has started where statutory cancellation rights still apply.
Statutory cancellation rights
Consumers purchasing online may generally have a statutory right to cancel eligible goods within 14 days after receiving them, subject to the applicable legal conditions and exceptions.
Some goods, including qualifying items made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised, may be exempt from this change-of-mind cancellation right.
These statutory rights are separate from any voluntary cancellation arrangements we offer. Our Returns and Refunds Policy explains the relevant procedures and exceptions.
Cancellation by DD Building Supplies LTD
We may need to decline an order before acceptance or take appropriate action where there is a genuine reason we cannot fulfil it, such as an unavailable product, a material pricing or listing error, suspected fraudulent activity or a legal or safety concern.
Where an order has already been accepted, we will handle any cancellation in accordance with the contract and applicable law. Where we cannot supply goods for which payment has been made, we will notify you and provide any refund or other remedy required by law.
We will not use this provision to avoid our contractual obligations or statutory responsibilities.
Made-to-Order Products and Quotations
Some products, including windows, doors and other products manufactured or configured to individual measurements or specifications, may require a quotation, specification approval, survey or confirmation before production begins.
You are responsible for reviewing the measurements, opening arrangements, colours, finishes, materials and other specifications provided for approval. Where we have agreed to undertake a survey or measurement service, the scope of our responsibility will be set out in the relevant agreement.
Orders for made-to-measure or customised products may be subject to specific cancellation restrictions where the relevant statutory exception applies. We will explain any applicable restrictions before the order is finalised where required.
Quotations for products, installation or building work will state their applicable price, scope, assumptions and validity period where relevant. A quotation does not guarantee availability indefinitely, and any acceptance, deposit or commencement arrangements will be governed by the quotation and any associated contract.
Where building work, installation or another service is agreed, the project-specific contract will set out the scope of work, payment arrangements, estimated timescales, cancellation provisions and other applicable conditions. These website terms do not replace those project-specific terms.
